簡介：影片以第一次世界大戰為背景，講述三名法國俘虜在德國集中營越獄的故事。三名法國飛行員在一次任務執行中被德軍擊落，波迪奧、邁克和羅森塔爾三人被帶到戰俘集中營。波迪奧與德軍監獄長羅芬斯坦都是貴族出身，有著共同的政治見解，二人在獄中成為朋友。三人隨后發現獄友正進行越獄計劃，他們挖出一條逃跑的通道。邁克和羅森塔爾也加入了挖掘行動。最后他們集體越獄，德軍全力追捕，在逃亡中，波迪奧被羅芬斯坦擊倒，兩名法國俘虜邁克和羅森塔爾逃到一個德國農婦家中，在她的幫助下，二人經過種種波折逃到瑞士。本片是最早的越獄片之一，被評為最偉大的“越獄電影”之一，同時也是導演讓·雷諾阿的反戰杰作。
